US Marketing wins citation of excellence
by Louise Robertson, Intranet Communications
Dottie Hogan, art director in the US
Marketing department, and her team recently won a citation of excellence
from the Advertising Federation of Columbus, Inc (Ad Fed). The citation
was awarded during Ad Fed’s presentation of the Addy Awards.
Fine Line Graphics, a printer, submitted
the winning entry (invitations for a series of customer events) created
by Dottie Hogan, Rebecca Burdock, and Kevin Carr. This entry won in
the collateral material division and is still under consideration for
further recognition.
Gina Miller, who replaced Kevin Carr
on Hogan’s team in September, describes the citation, "This is
a huge award. I have been a member of Ad Fed since forever and it is
very rare to see someone other than an ad agency win."
The invitations created by Hogan’s team
asked customers to attend a power trip, or rather, "an evening
of smooth cognac, premium cigars, fine food, and easy listening jazz."
These hand-assembled invitations were ridged, sealed with a cigar-band,
and infused with the aroma of tobacco. Hogan says, "We got loopy
putting them together. The conference room smelled."
